The Indian police announced they did not have any proof that the father of the girl, who became one of the stars of the Slumdog Millionaire Oscar winning movie, had intentions to sell her.
The mother of the 9-year-old, Rubina Ali, requested an investigation of the case after the UK \"News of the World\" published information that the father had tried to sell Rubina for GBP 200,000.
The father, Rafiq Qureshi, and several residents of the Mumbai slums have been interrogated, but authorities said they had not found any proof of Qureshi ever intending to sell the girl and would not make an arrest.

Trial against Bulgaria Tobacco Monopoly Former Head Drags on
A Bulgarian court has delayed the trial against the former chief executive of state tobacco company Bulgartabak, who is charged with misappropriation of funds and tax evasion on a large scale.
The next hearing has been scheduled for June 8.
Prosecutors say Hristo Lachev has not paid taxes totalling BGN 10,000 for the period 2004-2006. He has not legally declared properties in Sofia, Separeva Banya, Bansko and along the Black Sea coast.
Lachev has denied any wrongdoing.

The Anglo-American School of Sofia Invests over BGN 1 M in Bulgarian Children
The Anglo American School of Sofia (AAS) announced it will provide full academic scholarships for a limited number of Bulgarian students in grades nine and ten for the 2007-08 school year. The scholarships will be in effect until the students complete their high school education or leave the school. Over the course of the high school scholarship program, AAS will invest up to BGL 1,200,000 in the education of talented Bulgarian children.
This initiative is part of the school \'s commitment to support Bulgarian students. Previously, AAS supported 3 Bulgarian children with financial aid from Grade Preschool-Kindergarten to Grade 8, almost a 10 year-scholarship for each child.
